Today when I listened to your testimony after the Rosary I was reminded of my miracle 47 years ago. I was 7 months pregnant expecting twins and at the time I was a single mother to be at 18 years of age. I was living at home with my very strict family and babies father was not in the picture.
Upon my 7th month prenatal checkup additional tests were done and it was brought to my attention that first I was expecting twins and second I had a mass in my uterus. Doctors were insisting that the mass had to be removed because it was causing distress to my babies. Chances of losing my pregnancy were high. Perhaps in current times it would not even be a factor but in 1977 technology was not in my favor. I was scheduled for surgery in 2 days.
I have always had a firm belief in God even as a child. I was fortunate enough to attend catholic school so my understanding was enriched enough to know that I could turn to our Blessed Mother for help. Many prayed over me the night before my surgery. I knew that I needed a miracle. I knew that God had a plan for my babies and I trusted.
The morning I checked in for surgery one last exam was done.
The doctor was dumbfounded. He came into my room and informed me that the mass in my uterus was no longer there! It was as if it disappeared. “Thank you God!” I said. I knew it was Devine intervention, too bad the doctor wasn’t a believer otherwise he would’ve been crying like I was!
I went full term. My son weighed 7.9 my daughter 7.2
The power of believing that prayer is mighty is our only defense!
