The Divine Mercy prayer meetings have helped me through many difficult times such as my heart surgery, work crisis and domestic helper issues. I would like to share here about prayers answered regarding my domestic helper.
In 2021, my family needed to hire a domestic helper to look after my mother who has dementia and started having incontinence. It was a very stressful time for me and my family. I had just joined the Divine Mercy prayer group and I asked them to pray that my family can find a good domestic helper urgently. We had not had any helper in the past few decades and we were concerned whether my mother would accept having a helper in the house as she would not understand why there is a new woman in the house. The Divine Mercy prayer group prayed for my prayer intention and we found a helper who started work within a week or two. My mother accepted her immediately! I was so relieved and grateful. Although my helper had not taken care of old folks before, she was able to take care of my mother very well. Before my helper came, my mother had been reluctant to take a shower, have her nails clipped and brush her teeth. But my helper was able to help my mother do all these. My mother listens to my helper and likes her very much. I am so thankful for the prayers of this Divine Mercy prayer group.
My helper has worked for my family for 4 years now. Recently, my helper wanted to go back to Myanmar for 2 weeks to visit her family. We were concerned that she may not be able to return to Singapore once she goes back to Myanmar due to the ongoing civil war in Myanmar and we heard that there are new policies regarding Myanmese leaving Myanmar to work overseas. Again, I asked the Divine Mercy prayer group to pray that my helper will be able to return to Singapore safely. My helper has returned to Singapore on 14 August 2025 safely. My sister who lives in the US came back to Singapore to help look after my mother during the 2 weeks my helper was away. Everything worked out well. Praise be to God! Thanks to all the brothers and sisters in the prayer group who prayed for me!
